"She's a brick-house,

That lady's stacked,
And that's a fact,
Ain't holdin' nothin' back"

If you are like me, you have been searching for the holy grail of thick hair. No one likes anorexic locks...we want a lil "va va va voom," right?!? One great way to thicken up your hair is the use of castor oil. Castor oil is one of the most popular oils in the hair community. It is known to thicken hair, promote hair growth, prevent thinning, nourishes, helps reduce split ends, helps to tame frizz, and prevents scalp infections.

Castor oil is a vegetable-based oil derived from the castor bean and is a colorless thick liquid that is composed of approximately 90 percent fatty acids. The high concentration of Omega 9 fatty acids in castor oil provides rich moisture to your hair and scalp, preventing hair breakage and preventing your scalp from becoming dry and flay. Regular use of castor oil on your roots and ends will also promote hair thickness, growth and re-growth to thin and balding areas (though this doesn't work on areas suffering from alopecia). The ricinoleic acid found in castor oil has a high level of anti-fungal properties and is a great remedy to use on mild to severe cases of dandruff. For daily maintenance or to treat hair loss or scalp conditions, castor oil is a natural remedy that renders effective results.

Beware...castor oil is THICK and is best mixed with other oils such as argan, sweet almond oil, or coconut oil. I have naturally thin hair so I have to be extra careful to use just a little castor oil when applying directly to my hair or scalp....otherwise my hair is completely weighed down. My favorite use of castor oil is in SoVAiN Deep Moisture hair conditioner. The castor oil helps nourish my hair, assists in preventing split ends and breakage, and of me "brick house" tresses, lol.

Remember...these results will not be immediate. But with consistent use, you will see results.

Happy hair growing! Stay VAiN!
