Healthy hair needs protein....both from internal and external sources. Using a protein conditioner on a regular basis will combat weak hair that is prone to breakage. It is equally important to ensure you have a diet rich in protein to promote healthy hair growth. Fish, eggs, chicken, and beans are all examples of sources of protein that should be a regular part of your diet.
