With holiday season quickly approaching, delicious cookies, cakes, and pies begin popping up everywhere- at work, social gatherings, and even in the comfort of our own homes.

The key to successfully getting through holiday season without losing our healthy ways is not by depriving ourselves, but by using moderation and practicing portion control.

When it comes to cakes, muffins, breads, and other baked goods, we can control what we’re consuming by getting in the kitchen and baking  foods that are delicious and healthier than the norm.

It’s possible to still enjoy festive holiday foods by substituting traditional ingredients with healthier ones – which means less fat, sugar, and calories.  Some ingredients might not be less in caloric value, like coconut for instance, but baking with coconut oil is so much healthier than vegetable or canola oil. Sometimes you can substitute one or two ingredients and you may not even notice a change in whatever you’re making. This

Healthy Baking Substitutes guide will help you make smart, healthy ingredient swaps. Happy baking!
